“As a longtime member, I have experienced FPA to be a place where a diverse group of people committed to the financial planning profession come together to create and participate in meaningful, educational programs.”
I’ve been a member of FPA since 2002 and through the years, I’ve had so many special relationships with my peers in Georgia and throughout the country.
I first joined FPA because I wanted to meet with peers in study groups and attend workshops and conferences focused on financial planning. I live in a small town several hours outside of Atlanta, and I needed education and connections. I needed to find people to talk to about my new career, learn how to choose investments and create portfolios, and understand the financial planning industry and how to create my business model. FPA has provided that for me.
I was happy to join the local FPA of Georgia board in 2009 and was honored to serve as president of our chapter in 2013. Our association is vibrant and diverse: It’s filled with people of all ages and experience levels.
As a lesbian financial planner, I appreciate an association that helps promote participation in this profession by having wonderful conferences, local events and groups we can connect with on social media. As a longtime member, I have experienced FPA to be a place where a diverse group of people committed to the financial planning profession come together to create and participate in meaningful, educational programs. I have attended local and national events that help me stay up-to-date on the latest information in the financial services industry. I’m proud to be a part of this organization that focuses on partnering with its members so we can help transform our clients’ lives through financial planning.
I love being a member of FPA.
