A recent graduate from K-State (and third-place winner in the 2018 FPA Financial Planning Challenge), Landon Warmund is starting his career providing comprehensive financial planning in the Kansas City area.

I’m going to make 2019 my year by trying to impact as many individuals as possible. This will be my first year in the profession—I’ve been given the knowledge of financial planning, now it’s my job to help others obtain financial literacy and security.

Another way I will be making 2019 my year is I will be giving back to the university that has given me so much. I will be taking on a personal role of advocating for the Kansas State Financial Planning program. I will try and impact as many upcoming high school graduates as possible and help spread my passion for financial planning.

FPA has provided me with numerous opportunities to help prepare me for entering the profession. Attending the last two National FPA conferences in Nashville and Chicago really helped me learn financial planning and how it applies outside of the classroom. Through FPA, I also made various lifelong connections at our local chapter meetings, which helped me find an internship before I graduated. I owe a lot to being a member of the Financial Planning Association!
